Rock climbing, via ferrata and hiking are popular but you can choose to fish, canoe, swim or just chill by lake Montriond, enjoy the swimming pool complex of Morzine or the Aquariaz water park of Avoriaz.
Relax on the majestic lake Geneva...
Take a day trip to the beautiful walled Medieval village of Yvoire or visit the world famous Evian (where the water comes from!).
There are plenty of grassed beaches and local restaurants (we specially recommend to go to the beaches of Anthy-Sur-Léman, Corzent, or Thonon’s swimming pool). If you are looking for a white sand beach take a look at Excenevex.
If you fancy some water sports - wake-boarding, water-skiing, paddle boarding and diving are all on offer.
Chamonix is perhaps best known for the world famous Mont-Blanc, Europe's highest mountain.
It however offers far more... boutique shopping, secluded mountain walks, mountain train rides, glacier visits and the Aiguille du midi téléphérique which takes you to the peaks of the surrounding mountain range at 3,842 meters - the panoramic views will make your heart skip a beat!
Another option for a day is Annecy with its beautiful old town and lake, one of the purest in Europe. You can hire a bike and cycle around the lake stopping for lunch in one of the many lake side restaurants.
We can highly recommend hiring a boat for a couple of hours and circumnavigating the lake, the views are amazing!
