We’re a bit worried that once you check-in to the gorgeous Chalet JJ that you won’t actually want to leave! And why would you? Not only is she an absolute beauty to look at — we’re talking Eames chairs, high ceilings, cosy throws, designer lighting and striking modern artwork — but there’s absolute everything you could want to keep everyone in the group happy, whether adult or child, mountain-junkie or homebody.
On the glorious terrace, you can pick your vantage point to enjoy the blissful mountain views. Will you plump for the XL Hot Tub which will wash away any aches and pains from a day up the hill? Or settle at the outdoor dining table with an aperitivo while you glance hopefully at the BBQ.
If the weather isn’t quite up to barbecuing, the spacious bespoke kitchen comes with all mod-cons — double oven, microwave, induction hob, solid granite worktops — ideal for those who want to make the most of the local produce (don’t miss the market on a Wednesday!)
Because this really is a chalet built for entertaining. The huge oak dining table, set in the double height living area just invites long lazy dinners, swapping tales of mountain exploits and lingering over just one more glass of the excellent local red — and maybe a sliver more cheese. Best of all? There’s a dishwasher, and a Nespresso machine, so no arguments over the washing up — or who has to make the coffee.
With dinner done, the choice is yours, settle into those comfy sofas, throw another log into the wood burning stove and stream some of your favourite music to the Bose speaker while you continue you to talk late into the night. Perhaps you fancy a film night? Pick your favourites from Netflix and watch them on the Ultra HD TV. Feeling competitive? There’s a PS3 — we pretend it’s for the kids but really…
Five well-sized bedrooms, four of which can be made up as twin beds or a king bed, depending on your needs, offer versatile accommodation for up to 10. The family suite on the top floor of the chalet features a separate bunk room which shares the master bathroom. Great if you have kids… but also flexible enough if you are a mixed group of adults. There’s plenty of storage space throughout but a washing machine and tumble dryer, as well as a large drying room, complete with boot dryers, means soggy kit doesn’t have to clutter up the bedrooms.
While Chalet JJ offers a retreat from the crowds, you’re still close enough to all the action, with the shops, bars and restaurants of Morzine just a 13-minute walk away, the nearest ski lift 10 minutes on foot and a bus stop for access to the Pleney and Avoriaz lifts under five minutes away, plus private parking on site if you prefer to drive yourselves around.
