While you’d be hard-pushed to find a more convenient location than Apartment Téléphérique’s plum position just moments from everything Morzine has to offer, this luxury four-storey home has much more than just its location to recommend it.
Take the high-spec living areas for a start. Architecturally stunning, with a vaulted ceiling and huge windows and skylights that let that glorious winter sun pour in, the lounge diner has huge leather sofas, just made for nursing a brandy and gazing into the flames of the roaring log fire, as well as a dining table that comfortably seats eight.
It opens on to a sunny balcony — the perfect spot for perching with a coffee in the morning (don’t worry, a Nespresso machine makes light work of that), or a glass of something in the afternoon (sorry, no bar staff provided, you’ll have to make your own), and soaking up the impressive views of the surrounding mountains.
While restaurants serving steak, fondue and more are just minutes from the front door, if you want to eat in, there’s a fully-equipped kitchen with a fridge freezer, oven, 4-ring induction hob, microwave, and even a dishwasher, meaning less time spent washing up and more time spent sitting around the dinner table exchanging stories.
A separate cinema room equipped with Netflix app, a Blu-ray DVD player and a surround sound system means nights in are covered — take your pick from hundreds of films, or link up your phone or camera, and replay the day’s heroics.
The king size beds in the modern en-suite rooms are fixed, making the apartment more suitable for groups of couples than families. The penthouse style master bedroom features a beautiful designer en-suite bathroom. Stylishly decorated, two have their own balconies and they all have ample storage — although a ski locker (with ski boot driers) as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer, means soggy kit stays out of the bedroom.
A four minute walk to the Pleney lift gives access to the Morzine and Les Gets ski area, while the Super Morzine lift, just five minutes away, takes you to Avoriaz and the rest of the Portes Du Soleil area. For direct access to Avoriaz, hop on one of the resort buses that regularly pass the bus stop around the corner, and it will take you straight to the Prodains lift.
