This perfectly-located penthouse makes it easy to enjoy everything that Morzine has to offer. Two minutes from the Super Morzine lift for access to Avoriaz and the extensive Portes du Soleil area, five minutes from the Pleney lift for the slopes of Morzine and Les Gets and with ski hire shops on your doorstep, you can spend more time on the mountains, and less time on a ski bus.
But what if you’re more of a gourmet holidaymaker than a sporty one? Well, you’re in luck, because whether you want wine bars, or micro-brewed beers, fondue or multiple-course tasting menus, there are bars and restaurants galore lining the streets around this elegant apartment.
And, if you’re the sort that likes to explore the local food shops and rustle up something, that’s not a problem either. For a start there’s a supermarket downstairs and you’re opposite a wealth of shops selling everything from freshly-baked bread to local honey, and regional specialities, including cheese, charcuterie and, naturally, wine.
Once you’ve got your provisions, the high-spec modern kitchen has everything you need to whip up a coq au vin or beef bourguignon, including a large induction hob and oven. While that’s cooking, make sure you take the opportunity to drink in the views — and maybe some of that famous Savoie wine — from the south-facing wraparound balcony. If you’re lucky you’ll catch a spectacular sunset.
After dinner round the spacious dining table, there’s no need to worry about the washing up as there’s a dishwasher, meaning you can enjoy a coffee (thanks to the Nespresso machine) and settle into the cosy sofas, with some tunes from the Bluetooth speaker, a film on the HDTV (Netflix comes as standard), or maybe just the crackle and flicker of the flames from the real log fire.
The three spacious en suite rooms can be made up depending on what your group requires (two can be configured as king-sized beds or twins and the other a fixed king size double). All come with ample storage space — although there’s secure ski storage and boot dryers, as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer, so no need for dirty, soggy kit to be cluttering up the place. And don’t worry that central equals noisy — excellent glazing means your beauty sleep won’t be disturbed.
If Apartment La Réserve 3 sounds like your ideal holiday home but it’s already been reserved for the week you had in mind, take a look at Apartment La Réserve 2 just one floor below. And, if you want to make it a bigger trip with even more friends and family, it’s worth knowing that between them, the three La Réserve apartments, which are all in the same building, can sleep a total of 16 people in all.
Note: Unfortunately this apartment is not suitable for mountain bikers.
